How will finalists be selected?
A panel will select the five finalists for each region. The panel will have representatives from The Morgan Foundation, NZ Police, and an independent person from the region.
There are three criteria:
- They must do some kind of community focused activity (either as their job or in their spare time);
- they must have shown determination and stick–at–it–ness to overcome obstacles;
- and they must have achieved benefits for their community.
They can be any age, involved in any area of activity, in any part of New Zealand.
Do they have to be a volunteer?
No, they don’t have to be a volunteer (although they could be).
Can I nominate a group of battlers?
Yes, feel free to nominate a couple or family or other group. They will have to choose one charity and share the prize.
